- Meaning
Do not ever choose a name just because it sounds nice. For instance, lots of people are called “Kennedy”. Though this name has a number of meanings connected to it, the most well-known meaning is “ugly-head” or “helmeted”. So, analyze the meaning of a name carefully and see if it is a lucky baby name before considering it for your child.
- Pronunciation
Make sure that the name can be easily pronounced. It might be tempting to select unique names like Chaturvaktttra, Jyotsana and Siddhidhata, but it is best to keep a simple name that is easy to understand so that no one would find it difficult to interact with your kid.
- Spelling
In order to have a unique baby name, some parents create strange spellings while naming their child. A person named “Maadhav” needs to clarify the spelling of “M a a d h a v” to others all the time.
- Names after celebrities
Entertainment industry has always been a common source for baby names. Most parents gather ideas for baby names based on TV characters or celebrities. But take care not to name your child after legends like Latha Mangeshkar, M.S. Dhoni etc. He/She would be compared with that famous personality and would eventually loose his/her true oneness.
- Combination of parents’ name
Certain parents try to come up with a name as a derivative of their own names. If the mother’s name is Laxmi and the father’s name is Raja, naming the child “Laxraj” would do him no good.
- Stick to the right gender
Naming a girl child as “Ishan” or “Adhil” would subject the child to torment in her peer group. Hence, name your child gender-specific.
